Republic gold 20 Pesos 1882/1 Cn-D MS64+ NGC, Culiacan mint, KM414.2. The strike nears completion and delicate orange-gold tone is sprinkled about sparkling fields. Closer inspection confirms a bold overdate and some soft grade-defining marks that, while present in the fields, don't command focal recognition. Almost certainly the finest survivor of this rare date, and due to its lofty grade, an important type representative for the entire "Cap & Scales" 20 pesos series (encompassing all mints that struck 20 pesos) as well. As such, truly an occasion that should excite the specialist and generalist alike!
