Nicholas I nickel Specimen Essai 20 Para 1915 SP67 PCGS, Paris mint, KM-Pn4. Very rare as an essai, and even more so in this nearly pristine state, with steely surfaces that exhibit dazzling luster as a result of refined die polish lines that run vertically across the fields. The first example we've offered of this type, with the most similar result being the sale of a 1 para (graded SP66 Red by PCGS) that brought $2,350 in our New York auction is past January. As the finest and only example graded by PCGS, this larger denomination will surely attract even more attention.
