Nicholas I copper Pattern Denga 1848-MW MS63 Brown PCGS, Warsaw mint, KM-Pn109, Bit-849 (R2: business strikes included), Brekke-53. Though not considered a novodel issue by either Bitkin or Brekke, this piece would definitely appear to be struck to a higher quality than a normal business strike--which are rare and highly collectable in their own right. In any event, choice brown surfaces and an underlying luster make this specimen, issued in Warsaw, of interest not only to collectors of Russian coinage but to those of Polish coinage as well.
