Republic 5 Reales 1858-A XF Details (Surface Hairlines) NGC, Paris mint, KM-Y11. A scarce one-year type, this pleasing example exhibits a great deal of detail remaining for an issue which circulated extensively. Some light hairlines are evident, but in no way detract from the overall appeal of this piece. For comparison, a PCGS VF25 realized a hammer of $2,600 in our 2015 CICF auction (sale 3040, lot 30707).
