Octavian, as Triumvir and Imperator (43-31 BC). AR/Æ fourrée denarius (2.61 gm). NGC AU 4/5 - 4/5, core visible. Imitating issue of military mint in Greece, autumn 42 BC. Helmeted and draped bust of young Mars right, spear over left shoulder / Aquila (eagle) between two signa, all set on ground line; above, trophy, holding oval shields; S-C flanking aquila. Crawford 497/3. CRI 138. Sydenham 1320. RSC 248. Small area of surface breakage on obverse, revealing copper core, otherwise identical to a regular issue.
