ROMAN EMPIRE: Hadrian (AD 117-138). Lot of twenty five (25) AR denarii. VF - Choice VF. A handsome and diverse group from an old European collection, with several rare bust and reverse types. Reverses include: Hadrian on platform distributing cash to citizens, Salus feeding serpent (2, Salus facing opposite ways), Liberalitas with abacus (2), eagle on thunderbolt, Pax holding branch, Roma seated right with parazonium, Roma seated left with branch, Pudicitia seated left, Pietas standing left sacrificing, Pietas standing right with hands raised, togate emperor sacrificing, Felicitas clasping hands with Hadrian, Felicitas with caduceus, Tellus holding rudder, Aequitas with scales, Mars (Roma?) holding Victory, Fides with basket, Romulus advancing right with trophy, Fortuna Redux with emperor, galley sailing left, Providentia with globe, Spes raising skirt. A whole collection in one lot, with one extremely rare bare head left obverse (Vota Publica reverse) and several other important and rare historical types. Should be examined closely!
