Bust of Zeppelin, Durr and Eckener surround a palm branch on the obverse and a zeppelin breaks through the clouds on the reverse. An attractively tone, prooflike example of the medal that commemorates airship LZ-127s journey which began in Lakehurst, NJ, then traveled to Friedrichshafen, Germany, then Tokyo, Japan and finally Los Angeles, California before it returned to its starting destination. Rare in silver and even more so in this near-Gem quality.
