Our Lady of Guadalupe (Virgin of Guadalupe) Religious gold Medal 1800, similar to Grove-272, 26.37gm, the gold appears to be of a high fineness. The image in Grove shows an oval medal with the same design and wording on the reverse. Obv. Standing, radiant, figure of the Virgin of Guadalupe in a circle with ornate border, and legend N.S.D GUADALUPE DE MEXICO.A.1800. Rev. Radiant cross over legend, NONFECIT TALITER OMNATIONI, all in beaded circle with ornate border. XF Details, but appears to have been polished at one time. A mount has been removed at 12 o'clock. This type comes with various dates, but this is the first 1800 dated example we have seen.
