Germany Headquarters Command Barter Center Frankfurt am Main 1 Unit 1947A Schwan-Boling 629. An interesting note from the post-war period when an exchange center was set up in Frankfurt am Main in order to facilitate legal exchange of goods between citizens and American GIs. This store was in operation from October 14, 1946 to May 21, 1948. These notes were printed by a local printer on surplus map paper. The barter system is covered in detail on pages 296-97 of World War II Remembered by C. Frederick Schwan and Joseph E. Boling. PCGS cites on the label that there is a "printed foldover; cutting error." The encapsulation prevents us from seeing the error. PCGS Gem New 66PPQ. HID08701242017
