Tahiti Banque de l'Indochine 5 Francs 2.9.1912 Pick UNL. PMG indicates this is a Pick 1b, though its date of 2.9.1912 is unlisted in Krause. Interestingly, this unlisted date should be more in line with the date from Pick 1a, but it has the black ink "PAPEETE (TAHITI)" overprint instead of the red ink overprint. This example grades PMG Choice Fine 15 Net. A repair is disclosed by the grading service. It is in the top margin and replaces some missing paper. Only the tiniest part of the design is affected by the restoration. The last example of this number that crossed the auction block that we know about was a raw Fine with pinholes and a tear and it realized over $1500 in 2010.
