Large Cents
1805 1C S-269, B-3, R.1, AU58 PCGS. Breen Die State IV. From a late state of the dies, this attractive near-Mint specimen shows dramatic clash marks at the hair ribbon and before the face and throat. There is a bulge in the lower obverse field at 7 o'clock and a die crack through the bottom of the numerals 180 in the date. The glossy brown surfaces are minimally abraded and only a trace of wear is evident on the sharply detailed design elements. An old scrape on Liberty's cheek is blended into its surroundings and is nearly invisible. The overall presentation is most impressive with frosty tan luster at the peripheries. Our EAC grade XF40.
