Early Half Dollars
1794 50C O-101, T-7, High R.3 -- Tooled -- NCS. Good Details. Tompkins Die State 1/2. The only obvious tooling on the coin is actually graffiti, where the numbers 17 were inscribed to replace missing digits in the worn date area. Otherwise, this is a solid Good coin with strong peripheral definition on the reverse and throughout most of the obverse, but weakness at the lower obverse and central reverse. Attractive medium-gray toning is a notch lighter on the raised areas.
