1799 $1 7x6 Stars, B-10, BB-163, R.2 -- Improperly Cleaned -- NCS. XF Details. Bowers Die State III. Patchy umber-gray toning on the obverse disguises signs of an old cleaning, while the reverse shows natural silver-gray color with a few faint lines in the fields. The BB-163 variety is one of the more available die marriages for 1799 -- most examples exist up to VF condition, but relatively few XF to AU coins survive.
