The composition of the Indian cent was changed from copper-nickel to bronze in 1864 and the coins struck earlier in the year did not include the designer's initial on the ribbon. This spectacular Superb Gem is tied for finest certified, with well-detailed design elements and lustrous original red surfaces that show a few clash marks on both sides. Census: 3 in 67 Red, 0 finer (7/17).
