Proof Lincoln Cents
1916 1C PR66 Red and Brown PCGS. In 1916, matte proof Lincoln cent coinage dipped to only 1,050 pieces, making this issue the second-scarcest in the matte proof series, trailing on the 1909 VDB. This Premium Gem example displays thick matte luster and a full strike. Copper-orange and gold hues are dominant, although lavender-red, olive, and russet hues appear under a loupe and define the Red and Brown color designation. Population: 23 in 66 (1 in 66+) Red and Brown, 4 finer; 5 in 66 Red, 0 finer (7/17).
