Proof Seated Quarters
1874 25C Arrows PR66+ PCGS. Briggs 5-D. The arrows flanking the date were instituted in 1873 to signify an indiscernible weight increase in subsidiary silver coinage. The design was continued through 1874, when 700 proof quarters were struck. The two-year type is always popular with collectors. Original blue, violet, and gold patina melds with minimally toned centers. Preservation is exceptional. Population: 26 in 66 (14 in 66+), 16 finer including Cameo and Deep Cameo (7/17).
