Standing Liberty Quarters
1916 25C AU55 NGC. This is a pleasing example of the ever-popular, first-year Standing Liberty quarter. Slight high-point wear is hidden beneath olive-gray and faintly iridescent toning, while traces of luster remain visible near the borders. In 1916, new designs were prepared for all of the silver denominations, marking the first instance in United States Mint history that each denomination showcased its own unique design. Due to the low mintage of this introductory issue (just 52,000 coins), demand for 1916 Standing Liberty quarters in all grades has endured the test of time.
