Proof Barber Half Dollars
1897 50C PR66 Cameo PCGS. CAC. The obverse is untoned, while the reverse displays a swath of golden patina over the upper and central areas. The surfaces "fade to black" on each side when the coin is tilted slightly, the result of deep reflectivity in the fields and thick mint frost on the devices. Trivial signs of contact preclude an even finer grade. Population: 14 in 66 (3 in 66+) Cameo, 11 finer. CAC: 7 in 66, 3 finer (7/17).
