Proof Franklin Half Dollars
1952 50C PR68 Cameo PCGS. CAC. The Mint upped Franklin half dollar production to 81,980 proofs in 1952, but production quality remained a lingering issue. Pronounced reflectivity is generally found either on one side or another, but a Cameo designation requires both sides to exhibit equally profound contrast. The fields are uniformly glassy and deeply mirrored throughout this impeccably preserved PR68 Cameo half dollar. Each side remains naturally brilliant, and strike definition is unsurprisingly complete. There are only five comparably graded examples at PCGS, and none are higher. CAC: 6 in 68, 0 finer (7/17).
