1802/1 $1 Wide Date, B-3, BB-234, R.3, XF45 PCGS. Bowers Die State III. The remnants of an undertype 1 are clearly visible below the final digit in the date and there is a die lump in the field below star 8, identifying the BB-234 variety. Some faint clash marks above the date indicate the later die state. Most interior detail on Liberty's hair and drapery remains intact on this Choice XF specimen, and the lightly abraded surfaces are blanketed in attractive shades of lavender-gray toning, with traces of original mint luster underneath.
