1927-S $1 MS65 NGC. With a mintage of only 866,000 coins, the 1927-S is a better date in Gem condition, scarce in this grade and highly sought-after. Finer coins exist but are prohibitively rare. This MS65 example displays a bold strike and satiny mint luster cast in a light tan-gold hue. No distracting abrasions appear. Census: 81 in 65 (4 in 65+), 1 finer (7/17).
