Liberty Half Eagles
1883-CC $5 AU58 NGC. Variety 1-A. Bright and satiny with pale golden color throughout. Just a hint of striking softness is noted on Liberty's highest curls and on the eagle's neck feathers. A few easily overlooked grease stains are found in the vicinity of star 10. The low mintage 1883-CC half eagle, one of a mere 12,958 pieces struck, is very scarce in grades approaching Mint State and a condition rarity at the Uncirculated level. Census: 21 in 58 (1 in 58+), 8 finer (7/17).
