Liberty Double Eagles
1898-S $20 MS65 PCGS. CAC. Struck from unlapped dies with bold, sharply detailed design elements and vibrant cartwheel luster. The original tangerine-gold surfaces show only the most microscopic grazes, none out of line for the Gem grade. Liberty's cheek is notably well-preserved. The 1898-S double eagle is scarce in this grade, and PCGS has seen only a single numerically finer example. CAC: 14 in 65, 0 finer (7/17).
