Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles
1909-D $20 MS64 PCGS. The 1909-D Saint-Gaudens double eagle comes from a low mintage of 52,500 coins, one of the lowest mintages in the series by a significant margin. The issue is usually available through MS63 and is only marginally scarce in MS64. However, Gems are rare and will be out of reach for most collectors. This satiny near-Gem displays original golden luster and a bold strike. The fields are well-preserved but a few light marks within the eagle's wings limit the grade. PCGS lists 25 numerically finer representatives (7/17).
