1794 1C Head of 1794, S-34, B-20, High R.5 -- Environmental Damage -- PCGS Genuine. Fine Details. Our EAC grade: sharpness of Fine 12, net Good 6. Breen Die State I. An early die state, this piece shows evidence of fine porosity on both obverse and reverse. Light brown color is seen over most of each side with darker accents around the reverse devices. A short mark and rim bump are located at 3 o'clock on the obverse with another at 9:30. A few old obverse scratches are visible, and there are a couple of tiny rim nicks on the reverse. Two reverse dies, known as the "Single Berry" reverses, have just one berry inside the wreath immediately left of the ribbon bow. All die combinations from either of these two reverse dies are rarities. Bill Noyes grades this piece Good 6 and tied for 11th finest in his Condition Census.
