1796 1C Reverse of 1795, S-96, B-32, R.6 -- Environmental Damage -- PCGS Genuine. VF Details. Our EAC grade: sharpness of VF20, net VG8. Breen Die State I, without the bisecting reverse die crack. Bluish steel-brown surfaces exhibit diaphanous granularity that is little cause for concern. The finest known examples of the variety grade just Fine 12, and the present piece, graded VG8 by Bill Noyes and VG7 by Del Bland, is the seventh finest of the die marriage. Only about two dozen are known in all grades, with an average deduction of nine points between sharpness and net grades of the 10 finest examples. Only five of the 24 known examples have Average surfaces, according to Noyes.
