1797 1C Reverse of 1797, Stems, S-122, B-9, High R.5, VG10 PCGS. Our EAC grade: sharpness of Fine 12, net VG10. Breen Die State I with no reverse cracks. Hard and pleasing steel and chocolate-brown surfaces exhibit bluish overtones on both sides with scattered pit marks at the upper obverse. Our EAC grade agrees with Bob Grellman's view in the Holmes catalog, and places this recent discovery in a tie for sixth finest in both the Bland and Noyes Condition Census records.
