Morgan Dollars
1878-CC $1 MS66+ PCGS. The Carson City Mint produced more than 2.2 million silver dollars in 1878, the first year of the Morgan design. The issue is always in demand from branch mint type collectors and date collectors alike. Many high-grade coins have survived, but the population thins out drastically above the MS66 grade level, making this Plus-graded Premium Gem an excellent balance of quality and value. The design elements exhibit razor-sharp definition throughout, and the impeccably preserved surfaces radiate vibrant mint luster on both sides. An interesting die crack runs through the base of the letters in dollar. PCGS has graded only six numerically finer examples (8/17).
