1879 $1 MS66+ PCGS. The Premium Gem level is a transitional grade where the 1879 goes from plentiful in Gem condition to extremely rare in Superb Gem condition. This high-end MS66+ is clearly closer to the latter in terms of its technical quality. Marks are essentially unseen, save for a fleck under the left wing. Each side is radiantly brilliant with peripheral golden accents. There are merely five finer examples at PCGS (7/17).
