1879-CC $1 Capped Die, VAM-3, Top 100, MS61 NGC. A Top 100 Variety. The date is doubled and the mintmark shows the remnants of a partially effaced small CC below the larger primary mintmark. This sharply detailed Mint State specimen exhibits lightly toned surfaces that show the minimum number of minor contact marks for the grade. Cartwheel mint luster is present, but slightly muted.
