Gold Dollars
1889 G$1 MS67 PCGS. While the Philadelphia Mint ramped up production of gold dollars in the final year of issue for the denomination, coining 28,950 circulation-strike examples, few if any actually entered circulation, so Mint State coins are the norm for this issue. However, Superb Gem or finer pieces are rarely encountered. This example is sharply struck with frosty and brilliant yellow luster and pristine surfaces that show a few splashes of copper toning.
