1872 25C Indian Octagonal 25 Cents, BG-791, R.3, MS63 Deep Prooflike NGC. A fairly plentiful Period Two octagonal quarter dollar struck by Christopher Ferdinand Mohrig of San Francisco. This is the lesser of two Deep Prooflike examples at NGC (8/17). The strike is good, and the yellow-gold fields are deeply mirrored. Both sides display cameo contrast.
