Tokens, Bult Diamonds, a set of uniface brass tokens (3), two-shillings, shilling and sixpence, Shilling, each BULT DIAMONDS and value, mint state (3)
The find of diamonds at Bultfontein, 95 miles NE of Kimberley, was made a few years after the 1867 find in the Vaal River placer deposits. In 1888 this mine was amalgamated into the De Beers Group, who issued their own series of tokens. The brass "BULT" tokens would have been in use from the 1870s to 1888 at the latest. (80-120 GBP)
