This extremely rare pattern, showing the King's head much smaller than on the regular issue meant for circulation, is the exact obverse design of the gold 20 drachmai specimen dated 1852, a fact which suggests that this was originally meant for circulation like the gold 20 drachmai. Indeed a few of these drachma pieces have circulated, hence the less than perfect quality of the pattern offered here. (3000-3500 GBP)
