Merchants Bank of Halifax, Nova Scotia, an obverse and reverse proof on card for a $20, 1 July 1869, black and white, ship top centre, value in oval at left and right, reverse grey and white, value at centre, also an obverse and reverse $5, 1 July 1870, black and white, value in red panel low centre, ship top centre(Charlton 465 14-04-06 , 14-04-04 for similar), tear low right not impinging on design, good very fine and an extremely rare Blades, East & Blades engraving, second note good very fine, very rare (2).
