(x) East African Currency Board, 20 shillings (2), 31 March 1953 serial numbers D11 00001 and D11 00002, blue on orange and yellow underprint, Elizabeth II at top right, value at top left, reverse orange, lion at centre(Pick 35, TBB B225a), original extremely fine, an exceptional pair of notes with spectacular serial numbers. We have never seen a lower prefix than this on a 1953 issue, so it is very possible that this is the number 1 and 2 pair (2).
