(†) Banco de Portugal, a printers archival specimen 5000 Escudos, ND (1942), Ch.1, no serial numbers, purple and multicoloured, portrait of Queen Eleanor at right, three children with basket at lower left, arms at top centre, reverse woman, old man and child set in an ornately carved archway at centre, allegorical figures representing music and art at lower left and lower right respectively, two punch holes(Pick 157p), the much rarer large format 5000 'Eleanor' 5000 escudos, a fresh and attractive uncirculated and very rare.
