Obv: E?ENNIAN [ET?]?V?????? ?E Bust draped r. on crescent, wearing stephane. Rx: [?]NAZAPB - MHTPO? around, G - G across field, ET I[EP] O?V / T?C in two lines in exergue, Dionysus reclining l., head r., on back of panther lying r., head l.; Dionysus raises his r. hand above his head and holds a thyrsus with his left. Acquired from Coin Galleries, 21 April 1967. The coins of Anazarbus call this one year 269 of their era (=250/1 AD) "holy and Olympian", doubtless because the city's periodic celebration of Severan Olympian Games took place in that year: see Ziegler, Stätisches Prestige, p. 48.
