Maximianus, first reign, 286-305. Antoninianus (Silvered bronze, 22 mm, 3.45 g, 6 h), Lugdunum, early 293. IMP MAXIMIANVS AVG Radiate, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Maximianus to left, holding spear over his right shoulder and shield on his left. Rev. PAX AVG / A / * Pax standing front, head to left, holding branch in her right hand and spear and shield with her left. Bastien -, cf. 475 (1 specimen, with differing bust type). RIC -. Extremely rare and apparently unpublished with this bust type. Nearly fully silvered. Very light deposits, otherwise, extremely fine.
