.Attica. Athens. 136/5 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.92 g, 12 h), New style, Hera..., Aristoph... and Basilei... Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing pendant earring and a triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos and long tendril on the bowl, and four serpents on the visor. Rev. Α-ΘΕ /ΗΡΑ / ΑΡΙ - ΣΤΟ /ΒΑΣΙ/ΛΕΙ Owl standing facing on amphora; to left, club of Herakles downwards, with lion skin and bow in case; on amphora, Κ (= 10th month); below amphora, ΓΛ (= contractor's initials); all within olive wreath. Thompson 339. Attractive and well struck. Traces of corrosion and with minor pitting, otherwise, extremely fine.
