Thrace. Abdera. Circa 336-311 BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 10.68 g, 3 h), Hipponax. ΑΒΔ[Η] / ΡΙΤΕΩ[Ν] Griffin lying to left. Rev. [Ε]ΠΙ ΙΠΠΟ - ΝΑΚΤΟΣ Laureate head of Apollo to right; below, scallop shell. CN 126-35 (obverse die 2). May 543. A sharp, toned example. Very slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
