GREEK COINS
Thrace. Ainos. Circa 455/4-453/2 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 15.96 g, 8 h). Head of Hermes to right, wearing petasos with a beaded border and a button top, his hair wound around his head in a plait. Rev. ΑΙΝ Goat standing to right; to right, cult statue of Hermes Perpheraios on throne to right, with kerykeion and wreath on the throne. AMNG 260. BMC 3. May 71c (this coin, but with the wrong weight). SNG Fitzwilliam 1652. Winterthur 1148. Toned, and with a noble and serene head of Hermes. Good very fine.
