Kings of Macedon. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.91 g, 7 h), uncertain mint in Greece or Macedon, c. 310-275. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, dolphin swimming downwards; in exergue, bukranion between T - I. Haeberlin Collection 1937, 16 (this coin). Price 850. Rare. Nicely toned and attractive. Some die rust and minor porosity. Good very fine.
