Kings of Macedon. Philip III Arrhidaios, 323-317 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 16.90 g, 12 h), Sardes, 323-319. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Zeus seated to left on backless throne, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; in field to left, race torch; below throne, ΤΙ. Price P98. Thompson, Sardes, 242. Bright and attractive, with a very well-centered obverse. Extremely fine.
