Kings of Macedon. Perseus, 179-168 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 16.69 g, 12 h), of Attic weight, Pella or Amphipolis, c. 173-171. Diademed head of Perseus to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΠΕΡΣΕΩΣ Eagle with spread wings standing right on thunderbolt; above and to right, monogram of ΖΩ; between legs, monogram of ΛΩ; all within oak wreath; below, star of eight rays. Mamroth, Perseus 14. An attractive, toned coin with a fine portrait struck on a broad flan. About extremely fine.
