PHOENICIA, Tyre. Pseudo-autonomous issue. temp. Septimius Severus, AD 193-211. Æ (26mm, 9.78 g, 12h). Dated CY 321? (AD 195/6?). Laureate head of Melqarth-Hercules right, lion skin tied around neck / Octastyle temple of the Koinon of Phoenicia; Phoenician ethnic to left, AKT in exergue. BMC 362. Fine, brown surfaces.

From the François Righetti Collection.

This type carries either AKT or AKTI in the exergue, which AKT normally interpreted as a date. BMC (p. cxxxvi) notes the possibility that it instead refers to the Actian Games.
