Abbasid, al-Muqtadir (295-320h), medallion dinar with broad margins, Hamadan 319h, obv., without name of the heir Abu'l-'Abbas, rev., letter jim above to right of lillah, letter 'ayn below, 4.00g (cf ICA 27, 10 December 2014, lot 330 for a dinar from the same obverse die struck on a smaller and thicker flan), reverse weak, good fine and extremely rare. Donative issues at this period were occasionally struck in different modules from the same dies: a smaller, thicker version without the plain outer margin, and a broader, thinner version with the characteristic medallic border as on the present coin.
