1970-S 1C Large Date, Doubled Die Obverse, FS-101, MS64 Red and Brown NGC. Bold die doubling is evident on the date, LIBERTY, and IN GOD WE TRUST. This variety is scarce, with NGC attributing only 31 examples in all grades, and PCGS just 21 (9/17). The present coin is nearly full Red, showing only a tinge of burgundy at the lower reverse that prevents the Red designation from NGC. A similar lavender area appears in the left obverse field below IN. This satiny coin is sharply struck and well-preserved.
