Proof Two Cent Pieces
1867 2C PR65 Red PCGS. CAC. Despite a somewhat small production of 625 or so proofs, the 1867 can generally be found through PR66 Red and Brown with little difficulty. Those searching for a full Red example will have greater difficulty. PR65 Red is about the finest reasonably attainable level. Pumpkin-gold and copper-orange color grace each side. Moderate contrast is more apparent on the reverse. Well-preserved and pinpoint-sharp. Encapsulated in a green label holder. Population: 24 in 65 (1 in 65+) Red, 5 finer, including Cameo. CAC: 7 in 65, 0 finer (9/17).
