Buffalo Nickels
1918/7-D 5C FS-101 -- Reverse Tooled -- NGC Details. AU. Intermixed shades of blue and deep rose patina adorn this lightly circulated example of the famous hubbing error and perennial collector-favorite. The obverse is strongly defined and appealing, while the reverse displays scratches on the mound below the bison's forefeet. There has also been an attempt to efface a die crack below the bison's midsection. Despite the problems, this remains a well-detailed example with delicate patina and a bold overdate. A small lamination occurs near FIVE.
